I get a lot of questions about my “charcoal” or “pencil” brush. Here´s a quick how-to. You´re basically making some dots in a new image, select them, define them as a new brush, and play around with the various settings until it is scattered enough, then make your brush really, really small. It´s actually very simple and one of the reasons why I love Photoshop - you can get stunning results with simple little tricks!
